Here’s the full trailer for “Fast and Furious 6”. And let me tell you, it looks like a heck of a lot of fun.

The film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, Gina Carano and a host of others.

We had a bunch of heavy hitters air TV spots. From “Oz The Great and Powerful” to “Iron Man 3”, this year’s potential blockbusters were out in full force. And while they had varying degrees of success, the one that got me the most excited might surprise you. No, it wasn’t “The Lone Ranger”, that still is a tough sell for me. It was “Fast and the Furious Six”. The action looks ridiculous. The plot looks like it’s straight out of a soap opera. And yet, that over the top action, the humor and just fun tone that made “Fast Five” my favorite action film in 2010, is making “Fast and Furious 6” one of my most anticipated movies of the year. And that’s not a joke. Director Justin Lin has figured out that this series works best as pretty much a live-action cartoon. And you know what? That’s fine by me. Because “Fast Five” was so much fun. And “Fast and the Furious Six” looks to deliver more of the same. As soon as the scene with the exploding plane hit the screens, it sold me on it. Realistic? Obviously not. A whole hell of a lot of fun? Hell yes. With Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson giving the series two stars (Sorry Paul Walker), this film looks like it’s one summer movies were made for.

What was your favorite?

So far, details have been scarce about “Fast Six”. Now here’s the official plot synopsis and check out its Super Bowl commercial this Sunday!

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of all-stars as the global blockbuster franchise built on speed races to its next continent in Fast & Furious 6.  Reuniting for their most high-stakes adventure yet, fan favorites Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Elsa Pataky are joined by badass series newcomers Luke Evans and Gina Carano.

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe.  But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez).  The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London.  Payment?  Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

The anticipated sequel hits theaters later this year.

“Warm Bodies” and “Bullet To The Head” take on the Super Bowl. Will either be successful?

“Warm Bodies” will take the weekend. It’s had a strong marketing campaign that’s portraying this as a funny, unique take on the zombie film. The film features rising stars Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: First Class”) and Teresa Palmer (“I Am Number Four”) as well as John Malkovich and Rob Corddry. I think the film won’t have the broad appeal that would allow it to really break out, but an opening near $20 million is well within reach.

Opening weekend: $18-20 million

After Arnold’s “The Last Stand” and Jason Statham’s “Parker” bombed, Sylvester Stallone takes his turn with “Bullet To The Head”. Looks like another generic action film. Not to mention it’ll be  incredibly front loaded as its target audience will be watching the 49ers and Ravens on Sunday.

Opening weekend: $7-9 million

While I’ll be watching the San Francisco 49ers take on the Baltimore Ravens because of Colin Kaepernick, a player I covered in college, an added bonus is glimpses of a few of the year’s biggest blockbusters. Here’s a list (so far) of the films that will air teasers during the big game:

“Oz The Great and Powerful”

“Star Trek: Into Darkness”

“Fast Six”

“Iron Man 3”

“Oblivion”

“The Lone Ranger”.

Of this list, I think “Fast Six” and “Oz” have the most to prove to me. I’m a big fan of “Fast Five”, but I’m wary of the serious continuing. As for “Oz”, it just looks a little bit like background from “Alice in Wonderland” and just doesn’t excite me right now. Those two films in particular need to make a big impact for me to get excited about them.

Super Bowl XLVI prediction

No more talk. No more hype. Sunday, the Patriots and the Giants vie to be NFL champions. Will Eli Manning pick up his second title? Or will Tom Brady add another ring?

There’s no question the Giants are hot. After beating the Packers and the Niners, New York appears to be on a similar hot streak it went on during its title run in 2007. But the Giants will need more out of Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs than they have been getting all season (the duo have combined for just 89.2 yards per game this season). The Patriots running backs don’t strike fear into opponents either, but the run game has never been their primary focus.

However, expect a lot of fireworks through the air. Wes Welker, Deon Branch, Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez should provide both quarterbacks more than enough targets. Gronkowski’s health will be a major factor. But, even if he’s largely ineffective, he’s still a good decoy and the Pats have enough targets that they can survive without him.

New England has the league’s second-worst pass defense, but let’s not make a bigger deal than it should be. That fact hasn’t stopped the Patriots yet. But, the big battle will be between the Giants’ defensive line and the Patriots’ offensive line. The winner of that could determine the game. I thinkNew England’s offensive line will do just enough and Brady will win. The Giants have been hot, but the Patriots just have more offensive weapons than the Giants do. And, Eli is still subject to turning into bad Eli after one or two bad throws.

Prediction: Patriots win 34-24.

Packers lost…so what?

There’s going to be a lot of buzz around the Green Bay Packers finally losing a game, its first loss in more than a calender year. Kansas City Chiefs’ fans should be proud. They deserved to win that game. The Packers sucked on Sunday.

But before everybody goes crazy…the Packers losing was a very good thing. If Green Bay had run the table in the regular season that would have been the worst thing to happen to them. They would be the defending Super Bowl champs who hadn’t lost a game since December of 2010. You want to tell me they wouldn’t be a little cocky? Now, they know they’re not invincible. Now, people will start doubting them. Now, they’ll be motivated to prove the loss was a fluke, not the norm.

In fact, this was about the worst thing for the other NFL teams to have happen to the Pack. They can lock up home field advantage with a win next week, start resting players to get completely healthy (a far cry from last season) and focus on making sure Sunday’s effort doesn’t happen again. A motivated Packers isn’t what opponents should be hoping for. In fact, I’m so much more confident in Green Bay making the Super Bowl again than I ever have been this season.

Eli Manning told ESPN Radio that he considers himself to be a top-notch quarterback in the NFL, in the same class as Tom Brady. Quarterbacks have to have lots of confidence, but come on Eli. Though he has a Super Bowl MVP award to his name, Manning isn’t exactly the definition of what you want in a quarterback. He’s led the Giants to the playoffs in just four of his seven seasons. And, has anyone every really considered the Giants real contenders the past few seasons? A top quarterback is one that makes his team better and gives his team a chance to win the Super Bowl every season. That’s something Manning hasn’t done.
