“The Expendables 3” already added Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan and Milla Jovovich. Now Sylvester Stallone said that Mel Gibson is close to joining the film to play the villain. Presumably he’d join previous cast members  Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Jason Statham and Jet Li.

Kiefer Sutherland’s last film that I can remember was “Mirrors”. Since the “24” film is apparently dead, Sutherland is returning to the big screen to play the villain in the upcoming film “Pompeii”. Still not excited for the film from Paul W.S. Anderson who has helmed such classics as “Resident Evil”, the new version of “The Three Musketeers” and served as a producer on “DOA: Dead or Alive”. The film also stars “Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington, Jared Harris and Emily Browning.

Star Trek’s villain’s name is…

If Paramount is to be believed, a new image showing Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto (Spock) and Chris Pine (Kirk) has revealed the villain’s name. So is it Khan? Gary Mitchell?

Apparently it’s…John Harrison.

Likely it’s a fake name. You didn’t really think J.J. Abrams would let them reveal the real name would you?

So here’s what we know about J.J. Abrams “Star Trek 2”: Chris Pine is back as Kirk. Zachary Quinto is back as Spock. So are a few other returning cast members. We don’t know the plot. Don’t know who the villain is and heck, we don’t even know what the official title is.
Benedict Cumberbatch is playing the villain, we know that. It’s been rumored hundreds of times that he’s playing Khan, which everyone from writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci  to Cumberbatch himself has denied. Then, there was the Gary Mitchell rumor. Karl Urban said yes, Orci said no. Anyways, in a recent interview with Short List, this is what Cumberbatch had to say:

“Yep, it’s yet another thing I can’t talk about [laughs]. I’ll tell you this, it’s iconic and it’s exciting. I’m bored of denying that it’s Khan now, because people keep saying it.”

Hm. Does Gary Mitchell count as an iconic villain outside of die hard fans?

Yes, Comic-Con has turned into a big event for movies. And Marvel Studios had some big announcements. Most notably was that Ben Kingsley is indeed playing Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is indeed playing his arch-nemesis Mandarin. Also, the studio showed off Edgar Wright’s “Ant-Man” test reel, a strong sign that the film is indeed coming.
