Official video of Electro

Ahead of its Comic-Con panel, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” has a short little teaser featuring Electro. Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti and more, the sequel is directed by Marc Webb.

First came news that “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” would not have Mary Jane Watson. But now comes reports that actress Shailene Woodley may not play MJW at all in “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” because of scheduling conflicts with other projects. This is terrible news for the franchise. Woodley was great in “The Descendants” and “Divergent” looks like it has a lot of promise. Marc Webb’s Spidey sequel stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti and a host of others.

This is surprising. Marc Webb’s spidey sequel “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” will no longer have a pretty big character. Mary Jane Watson is out of the second film. Shailene Woodley was slated to play Watson.

“Of course I’m bummed. But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason. … Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing [Mary Jane] until the next film,” Woodley told ComicBookMovie.

It probably gives more credence that Emma Stone, who plays Gwen Stacey is going to die in the second film. Andrew Garfield is back as Peter Parker with Jamie Foxx as Electro and Paul Giamatti as Rhino.

When Felicity Jones was cast in Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” she was cast in an unknown role. She may have just let the cat out of the bag, however. When asked if she would be appearing as Black Cat (Felicia Harding) she said this:

“Uhm, Well…..possibly, I don’t know. Yeah, If that happens that would be wonderful.”

That’s not exactly a yes, but she didn’t say it wasn’t happening. She joins Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino and more.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” was an OK, but unnecessary reboot. The sequel, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” sees Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone return and the arrival of Jamie Foxx (Electro) and Paul Giamatti (Rhino). Now Sony is looking ahead, setting the dates for “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 4”, which will come out on June 10, 2016 and May 4, 2018.

Potential big spoilers for Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”.

Rumors are that the sequel, which features Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn, who becomes the Green Goblin has some bigger plans in mind. Comic Book Movie is reporting that the already cast Colm Feore is playing the Vulture and that he will be joining Electro, Rhino and the Green Goblin to begin to form the Sinister Six, which will be the main antagonists in “The Amazing Spider-Man 3”. Of course, that would leave two spaces open. In the comics, Mysterio, Sandman, Kraven the Hunter and Doctor Octopus all were part of the team. But with that tease to Venom, perhaps Venom takes one of the spots for the movies? Anyways, all this is pure speculation and that would be a lot of villains to juggle in one movie. Sam Raimi struggled with Sandman and Venom in “Spider-Man 3” so more isn’t always better. But the thought certainly is enticing. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone return as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, respectively.

That depends on who you believe. The Register is reporting that Sony is considering selling 15-20 percent of its film and music division to raise money for its electronics (PlayStation, TV’s, etc.). Included in that would be “Spider-Man” and “Resident Evil”. Of course “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is in production with Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti and more under the direction of Marc Webb. But Sony’s Amy Pascal told Ain’t It Cool News that Sony will NEVER let go of Spidey/Peter Parker.

“Skyfall” was a monster hit, earning more than a billion dollars worldwide. Starring Judi Dench, Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem and more, it was also one of the most critically acclaimed James Bond films ever. Much of that credit goes to director Sam Mendes. But Mendes, who was reportedly considering returning, has chosen to leave the upcoming Bond sequel. That’s too bad. Whoever comes in next has his work cut out for him.

In the “Spider-Man” universe, filming has started for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”. In addition to Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Jamie Foxx is in as Electro, as is Paul Giamatti as Rhino. Here’s some interesting tidbits on what could have been to Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man 4”, which got cancelled in favor of a reboot. Raimi said he hasn’t seen “The Dark Knight Rises”, where Anne Hathaway played Catwoman, but he said he had tapped her to play Felicia Hardy, AKA the Black Cat, in “Spider-Man 4”. He said he was displeased with “Spider-Man 3” and wanted to end with the “Best Spider-Man of them all”. So what happened? Raimi said he couldn’t get the story right in time for Sony’s deadline. Unfortunate, hopefully Marc Webb can step up his game.

Not Venom, But, we already know Jamie Foxx is playing Electro in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”. And that Paul Giamatti is playing Rhino. Of course Andrew Garfield is back as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone is back as Gwen. Now comes some big news. Chris Cooper is playing Norman Osborn in the film! Yep we will finally see Oscorp’s dying boss in the sequel directed once again by Marc Webb. Hm. So that would make three villains in this film. That’s half way to setting up a sinister six…Add in that locker that liked a lot like the one from the comics that contained the goo that turned people into Venom and that’s four. The Lizard would make five…

No, at least not at this point, Eddie Brock isn’t in Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”. But could Venom be coming anyways? Webb recently tweeted a photo of a locker, which you can see here. It looks an awful lot like the one that, in the Ultimate universe, Peter Parker and Eddie Brock are childhood friends and whose fathers were scientists together. They discover the symbiote that will become Venom in a locker.

Wait a second. Harry Osborn in the film is described as being an old friend. Obviously, Parker’s dad worked for Oscorp, meaning they could have been scientists together…is Harry taking over the Venom mantle for the movies? Of course Electro and Rhino have already been confirmed, so could this just be another step in setting up the Sinister Six?

I suppose it’ll be a while until we find out, but the film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Shailene Woodley and Sally Field.
