Michael Bay’s sort of reboot “Transformers 4” may have some new robots for fans to get excited about. JoBlo is reporting that the Dinobots and, specifically fan favorite Grimlock, will appear in the film. Also the Autobot Hound and a Decepticon “Samurai” robot will appear as well. And Galvatron will be replacing Megatron. Now I’m pretty sure the Dinobots have been rumored for every film, but maybe this reboot will see them make their way to the big screen. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, Kelsey Grammer and Stanley Tucci.

Yep. We’ve had numerous movies based on books (“Harry Potter”, “The Hunger Games”), movies based on short stories, movies based on TV shows (“Mission Impossible”), movies based on songs, but I’ve never, ever heard of this. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in talks to produce and star a movie based on a DRAWING titled “Teddy Bears: Protecting Innocent Children from Monsters Under the Bed Since 1902.” So basically, this is going to be a more serious version of “Ted”? Actually, if it is going to be more of a serious, action oriented film, why not get Mark Wahlberg? Anyways, I digress. This seems to be something my high school teacher would give me as an assignment. You can check out the drawing here.

Little known Irish actor Jack Reynor will star opposite Mark Wahlberg in “Transformers 4”. Original stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are long gone now.

Director Michael Bay posted this on his website:

I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg. Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie WHAT RICHARD DID. This kid is the real deal.

Transformers 4, is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net.

This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.

In the sort of reboot, sort of sequel “Transformers 4”, Michael Bay’s revealed some new details. In an interview with TMZ, Bay had this to share:

“The movie is going to continue four years from the attack on Chicago,” says Bay, “which was in the last movie. It’s going to have the same lineage, but it’s going in a full new direction. It actually feels very natural how it’s going in that direction… We’re doing a lot of things that are really going to make it fresh and feel new.”

Former series stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are long gone now. Though, those rumors about Mark Wahlberg appearing in this film could be interesting. Bay has said in the past this film will have a female main character.

So, I scoffed at the “Lego: Piece of Resistance” movie. I thought it was stupid. I thought it’d be dumb. You know what? I’m all of a sudden looking forward to see how this turns out. Morgan Freeman, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt have already been confirmed. Now, even more A-listers are joining them. Will Ferrell, Nick Offerman, Liam Neeson and Alison Brie will join the voice cast! Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing. They helmed “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” and “21 Jump Street”, so it looks like this film is in good hands.

No joke, I’m actually looking forward to this film now.

We all want a Justice League film. Now, we get to see them pitted against some of DC’s greatest villains. Get ready for the trailer for… “Lego Batman: The Movie-DC Superheroes Unite”.

Yep. That’s happening. Based on the game, the movie sees Batman, Superman and more go up against Lex Luthor, The Joker and more.

Now, don’t confuse this for the other Lego film being planned that may feature the voice of Will Arnett. That’s still happening too. And, it will have Batman and Superman as well.

Hasbro movies continue

Despite “Battleship” flopping, Hasbro isn’t done making movies from its toys. We all knew about Ridley Scott’s “Monopoly”, though he may now just produce. But, there are also plans for a “Hungry Hungry Hippos” and “Action Man” movies. Oh yes, let the stupid movies continue based on Hasbro properties. Emmett/Furla Films will release the films and have been responsible for films like “End of Watch”. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say none of these movies are going to be nominated for Best Picture. Maybe a Razzie.

Yes, Morgan Freeman may join forces with Batman again. This time, however, it will be for “Lego: Piece of Resistance” where he is in talks to voice a character. Elizabeth Banks is also in talks to join the film. They would join Will Arnett, who will voice Lego Batman, and Chris Pine. There were earlier reports that WB was looking for Channing Tatum to voice Lego Superman, but he is not mentioned in these latest ones. The film will follow a Lego figure, who they believe to be the Master Builder  and”join a quest to stop an evil Lego tyrant from gluing the universe together.”

Director John Chu, who is currently hard at work with a 3D conversion and reshoots with Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson and company for “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” is reportedly in talks to helm a “Masters of the Universe” film. Yes, we could be seeing He-Man on the big screen. Whether that’s a good thing is debatable. Also debatable is whether a “Masters of the Universe” film that tries to be more serious tone is the right way to go. The cartoon is very silly and changing that, well I’m not sure it will translate well.
