Back before this summer began, a surprise delay of “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” was announced, pushing the film’s release date back to this year. Many people believed it was to reshoot scenes to include more of Channing Tatum, who appears to die early in the film based on the early trailers. But now producer Lorenza di Bonaventura said the reshoots weren’t about Tatum at all.

“That is a complete rumor,” di Bonaventura told Crave. “I don’t know where that started. Literally, Channing shot for — if I have it wrong, I’m off by an hour — four hours, five hours? So it wasn’t really about that at all.”

Hm. Well, if that’s the case, then it makes you wonder why the decision to delay the film came so late.
