In case you haven’t heard about this story yet, this one is sure to warm your heart. Longtime Trekkie Dan was diagnosed with two forms of cancer. He went to see “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”, hoping to see the “Star Trek Into Darkness” prologue, but it wasn’t shown. Later, Dan was given just a few weeks to live. Director J.J. Abrams decided to screen “Star Trek Into Darkness” for Dan, giving him a chance to see the film he was so excited for. Daniel’s wife said they enjoyed the film immensely and had this to say as well:

“This is a story of us giving something to him, the ‘internet’ community giving something to him and ultimately being a heartwarming gift to our friends, family and so many others. This story of us (and of course JJAbrams & Bad Robot) being able to give this surprise gift of a screening to a huge movie buff like Daniel, especially a film made by a film maker who obviously makes movies with such care, with a fan like Daniel in mind.”

“Star Trek Into Darkness” stars Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Dr. Bones, Zoe Saldana as Aurora and more.
